Former Kenyan residents donate to Famine Fund

Former British residents of Kenya, now under their organisation, Kenya Society have raised Ksh 50,000 towards the Famine Relief fund being run by Community Advancement Programme (CAP) in the UK.

Confirming the gesture, Mr. Patrick Orr, the official Kenya government Public relations officer in the UK, stated "our appeal notice to members of The Kenya Society raised £320 - I would have hoped for more but it looks better in shillings and will no doubt help a little". Contacted for comment, Mr. Gatheru Rwamba, a Trustee of CAP said-" I fully concur with Patrick, every little helps. Only £2 is required to feed a family for 2 days in Kenya. Kenyans abroad must help their compatriots in Kenya. That is why CAP has given them all the opportunities online".
